MacGuffin written and produced by Steve Hirsekorn and Bob Cleary
The film is an affectionate and comical parody of over (20) twenty films by Alfred Hitchcock. Including Vertigo, North by Northwest, Suspicion, The Birds, Psycho, Torn Curtain, Spellbound and more. An ensemble cast of veteran and local community theater actors led by Steve Hirsekorn, Mary Hirsekorn, Bob Cleary and thirty three of the best from the shore. Directed by Chris Eilenstine, sound by Dan Quinn, production assistance by Donna Stiles and other talented craftsman, interns and college film school trainees.
The film plot, or "MacGuffin", begins with Grandma telling her grandsons that in order to inherit a humongous diamond ring and future wealth they have to partake in a scavenger hunt of clues to determine which one will be the heir.
Each clue leads to Jersey Shore locations that replace Hitchcock scenes or reference his movies. Like the Seven President Memorial and the Garfield statue in Long Branch replaces the Mount Rushmore and the Statue of Liberty. Or the odd take of the abandoned downtown of Long Branch replacing the field in North by Northwest, a heliocopter replaces the plane and the Long Branch Trolly instead of a bus. There are many other New Jersey locations referencing other great films with many twists.
Scenes portraying Tippi Hedren, Kim Novak, Ingrid Bergman, Janet Liegh and other sultry stars are satirically imitated.
The goal is to present a funny and adventurous romp through Hitchcock classic scenes with the audience hopefully linking the them with the films and stars . A homegrown New Jersey film ....written, cast ,crew and production.
Still in post production and plan for projected showing in early 2016.
